The Bauchi State Police Command, on Thursday, paraded an 18-year-old bride, Salma Hassan, who stabbed her husband, one Mohammed Mustapha, in the chest causing his death.
The ugly incident happened in Itas-Gadau, headquarters of Itas-Gadau LGA of Bauchi State.
The Bauchi State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mohammed Ahmed Wakili, while parading the suspect, disclosed that the incident took place on April 24, 2020, and was reported by one Haruna Musa at the Itas-Gadau Police Station.
The deceased was said to have been rushed to the general hospital in the town, wherein he was later confirmed dead. However, the suspect who confessed to the crime was arrested and a knife was recovered as an exhibit.
The DSP said that “On the 24/04/2020, one Haruna Musa ‘m’ from Itas-Gadau reported one Salma Hassan ‘f’ 18yrs of stabbing her husband, one Mohammed Mustapha on the chest, which led to his death.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police further stated that “The suspect was arrested upon confessing to the crime. The exhibit was recovered from the suspect was one knife”.
Questioning the suspect on why she stabbed her husband, she told journalists that she was tired of the late husband’s sex exploits, and her parents never told her that her late husband would be having that much sex with her.
The suspect said as, at the time of the stabbing, their marriage was just 11-day-old, but since she got married, her husband has been having marathon sex with her.
“It was too much for me, I could no longer bear the frequent sex he was having with me, I took a knife and stabbed him to prevent further sex,” the suspect confessed.
